Training CBNC

Training and Events

The CBNC was established in 2002 and since then more than 700 Internationally Educated Nurses have been advised on the procedures required by the State of Illinois to take the NCLEX-RN in the state of Illinois. In December of 2005 the consortium became a 501(c)(3) non-for profit organization.

Originally, CBNC focused only on programs for Hispanic nurses living in Chicago who were educated in Mexico or other countries to assist them to obtain a Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (The Chicago Mexican Nurse Initiative.). As the Consortium developed, other international nurses sought out the programs and services offered by the consortium, as there is no other centralized resource in Chicago or Illinois for IENs.

To date, CBNC has worked or is working with nurses from over 60 different countries e.g. Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Guyana, India, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Korea, Puerto Rico, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Poland, Korea, Argentina, Costa Rica, Togo, Germany, and Italy.
